Marriage

Most official definitions define marriage as the formal recognized union between a man and a woman as partners in a relationship.  But like everything else this definition was handed down by our ancestors and excluded certain members of society because of prejudices formed in their religious beliefs. Restricting marriage to the union of a man and a woman is a form of discrimination. When people move in together to form a family they are forming a marriage.  No one has any right to put restrictions on who can form a marriage or dissolve it. People of any sex or race will live together no matter what the law states if they choose to.  Making their union illegal only prevents them from getting official notice and rights to other benefits. A marriage can be between two or even more than two people regardless of their sex, race, or any thing else. It is their choice and no one else’s business!  The reality is governments are controlled by religious groups so laws are written to enforce their religious beliefs on everyone. Unless the law is protecting a person from physical or mental harm then the law is not valid.  Laws putting restrictions on marriage are those types of laws and need to be changed when society awakens to the new age of enlightenment.
